WIN a spot on a Spirit of Adventure Trust voyage!
Information on how to enter and prizes form part of the conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed as acceptance of the Competition Terms and Conditions.
Promoter: The promoter is Generate Investment Holdings Limited, PO Box 91609, Victoria Street West, Auckland 1142, New Zealand (the Promoter).
Competition Period: The Competition commences at 8am, 26 February 2025 and ends at 11.59pm, 23 April 2025 (Competition Period). No entry details submitted after this time will be valid.
Prize: Winners will win a spot for an ‘Eligible Nominee’ (see below) on a Spirit of Adventure Trust voyage departing from/ returning to Auckland.
Available voyages:
- Voyage #925. Sail dates: 14-24 September 2025
- Voyage #926. Sail dates: 24 Sept – 4 October 2025
There are a total of four positions available, comprising of two spots available on Voyage #925 and two spots available on Voyage #926. On each of these Voyages one spot can be won by a female and the other can be won by a male – this is at the request of the Spirit of Adventure Trust, who have gender limits on each voyage to ensure a balanced crew.
HOW TO ENTER
1.The competition entry is open to ‘Eligible Entrant’s’. Eligible Entrants are:
(a) current members of the Generate KiwiSaver Scheme or Generate Unit Trust (Managed Fund) Scheme aged 18 years of age or over.
(b) the legal guardian of a current member of the Generate KiwiSaver Scheme or the Generate Unit Trust (Managed Fund) Scheme that is aged between 16-18 years old.
2. Eligible Entrants must nominate an ‘Eligible Nominee’ to win the prize, by filling out the competition web form during the competition window. Eligible Nominees do not need to be a Generate member but must be a person aged 16 - 19-years old (as at the date of voyage) that meet Spirit of Adventure Trust’s eligibility criteria (set out below).
If a nominee does not fit in the 16–19-year-old age bracket on the date of the specified voyage, their entry will be invalid. Spirit of Adventure requirements stipulate that participants cannot be 20 years old before the voyage, but they can celebrate their 20th birthday on the voyage.
Spirit of Adventure Trust’s eligibility criteria include:
Meet the medical criteria of the voyage. People with any of the following conditions are not suitable for a Spirit of Adventure voyage:
o Heart condition
o Anaphylactic allergies
o Epilepsy
o Mental impairment
o Physical impediment
o Anxiety, depression or anti-social behaviour
o Maximum weight 140kgs, must be mobile and physically fit.
o Coeliac disease or those who are likely to have an anaphylactic reaction eg. Food, Stings, Medicines.
Agree to the code of conduct/terms and conditions of the voyage. These can be viewed here.
If a nominee is considered to be unsuitable for a voyage by Spirit of Adventure, the prize will be forfeited and offered to another competition entrant. The decision on whether an entrant is suitable for a voyage is at the discretion of the Spirit of Adventure Trust – not Generate.
Employees of the Promotor (or of its holding or subsidiary company) are not Eligible Entrants, and their immediate families (i.e. children) are not Eligible Nominees.
By entering the competition, you confirm that you are an Eligible Entrant and that the Nominee is eligible to receive the prize.
Entry Instructions: To enter, Eligible Entrants must nominate an Eligible Nominee to win the prize, using the competition webpage. In 300 words or less, tell us about an Eligible Nominee who they think deserves the prize and would make the most of a Spirit of Adventure Trust voyage and explain why.
Eligible Entrants may make one (1) nomination. Eligible Nominees may receive multiple nominations from different Eligible Entrants.
All entries will be deemed to have been received at the time of receipt by the Promoter and not at the time of transmission by the participant or entrant.
SELECTION OF WINNERS AND THE PRIZES
1.There will be four prize winning nominees, who will be selected on or about 17 May 2025 by the Promotor and the Spirit of Adventure Trust. The Promotor and the Spirit of Adventure Trust may select any Eligible Nominee at their complete discretion. The Eligible Entrant (person who nominated the nominee) of the winning nominees will be contacted by phone.
2. Each prize winner will receive a voyage on a Spirit of Adventure Trust 10 day voyage, worth NZ$3500 on one of the dates stated above. The prize is not transferable to another person and is not redeemable for cash. Prize winners may request a change to the voyage dates, but this is subject to availability with Spirit of Adventure. Date transfers are not guaranteed. There is also a cost to transfer voyage dates. Generate will cover the cost of one (1) date transfer. Any subsequent date transfers will be at the cost of the nominee.
Where a winner resides more than 300km from Auckland, Generate will also commit up to $400 to assist with transport to and from Auckland for the winner.
3. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to notify the nominator of each Prize Winner. At the conclusion of 10 days, if the Promoter is unable to contact the Eligible Entrant (nominator), the prize(s) will be declared null and void. If a prize is declared null and void the Promoter will have the sole and absolute discretion to draw a new prize winner.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of any terms and conditions. If the Eligible Entrant does not accept these Terms and Conditions, the prize will be forfeited.
2. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that entries are received. The Promoter is not liable nor required to replace or to compensate in any way for lost, improperly completed, late, stolen, misdirected or damaged promotion entries.
3. The Promoter reserves the right to extend, postpone, or cancel the competition and to update the terms and conditions, and prizes without notice and for whatever reason.
4. All entries become the property of the Promoter. Entry into the promotion constitutes consent by the Entrant to the Promoter to use the entrant’s personal information for the purposes of the Promoter (or its advisers or agents) contacting the Entrant to discuss the Generate KiwiSaver Scheme and/or the Generate Unit Trust (Managed Funds) Scheme (each a 'Scheme' and together the 'Schemes"), and for any administrative and promotional purposes connected with the prize draw (and the Entrant waives any claims to royalty, right or remuneration for such use). The entrant may be contacted by phone, email or SMS. Any reply to an SMS will be charged at the entrant’s standard Network provider’s rate. All entrants’ personal information will be held in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 by the Promoter (Level 9, Jarden House, 21 Queen Street, Auckland 1010) and the Promoter’s Privacy Statement at Generate Privacy Statement. Any requests to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter using the contact details available on the website www.generatekiwisaver.co.nz. Where the Promoter shares entrant’s personal information with its independent third party advisers for the purposes of the adviser contacting the entrant to discuss the Scheme, the third party adviser may also discuss other third party products and services with the entrant which are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Promoter. Any use of an entrant’s personal information by a third party adviser for purposes other than discussing the Scheme on behalf of the Promoter will be subject to the third party’s own privacy policy. Entrant’s may opt out of receiving promotional communications at any time by contacting
the sender and/or clicking on the unsubscribe facility in any electronic message.
5. In relation to any aspect of the promotion the Promoter’s decision is final and binding on every person who enters, and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. The Promoter reserves the right to require the Eligible Entrant and prize winner to sign a declaration confirming their eligibility and to verify their identity.
7. The winners will be chosen by the Promoter and Spirit of Adventure Trust at their complete discretion.
8. Prizes are not transferable and not redeemable for cash.
9. The Promoter, Public Trust (as Supervisor of the Scheme) and their respective associated agencies, companies and employees, and the Scheme shall not be liable in any way (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss) or for any loss or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained by any person directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with this competition, including as a result of participation in the Spirit of Adventure voyage, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The cost of the prizes are being provided by Generate Investment Holdings Limited and not the Generate KiwiSaver Scheme nor Public Trust.
10. Nothing in these terms or conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify the winner’s rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
